Brandon is located on Route 7 about halfway between Middlebury and Rutland at the foot of the Green Mountains. The town has several restaurants, antique shops and art galleries. It is an easy drive from Brandon to explore Vermont's Champlain Valley. Champlain Valley is known for its historic sites and museums.
Area activities include birdwatching, apple picking, and boating. Cultural attractions include the Warren Kimble Museum and Gift Shop, the Vermont Folk Art Center and the Performing and Visual Arts Center at Middlebury College.
Nature lovers will enjoy the Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area, and golfers will enjoy the Neshobe Golf Club.
